Best Papers on Aging Research and Ethics

Call for Submissions/Papers

Two Prizes to be Awarded: Each $1,000 and an expenses paid trip February 4-6, 2025 to present the paper at an international conference in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.

 

Who is eligible: Any student currently enrolled in a degree program at the college, medical student, public health, graduate student or post-doctoral level.

 

How to apply: Papers are due by noon EST, December 1, 2024. They should be sent via email as an attachment clearly marked as “Submission for Hevolution/NYUGSOM ethics prize” along with your CV, a short, 100 word bio and your high resolution picture. Send to: Lena Milam (Lena.Milam@nyulangone.org) with heading ‘submission ethics aging prize’.

 

Paper Topic:  Must address one of these questions:

 

·      What does justice require in distributing the benefits of aging research to all?

 

·      What ethical strictures/principles ought govern research on aging in order to achieve a just distribution of the findings of such research?

 

Paper style:  Must be no longer than 15 pages, contain no more than ten references as part of the page total, double-spaced, 16 point type in English including a one paragraph abstract. Put your name and email as a header on each page.

 

Judges: A group of scholars from NYU’s Division of Medical Ethics will judge the papers. Unfortunately, due to the large number of applicants, feedback will not be provided concerning decisions.
