2026 International Business Ethics and Sustainability Case Competition
2026 International Business Ethics and Sustainability Case Competition
Registration is still open for the 2026 hybrid International Business Ethics and Sustainability Case Competition (IBESCC), sponsored by Loyola Marymount University’s College of Business Administration. This innovative competition enables students to persuasively apply ethical reasoning to practical issues and the moral imperative of sustainable development. Students choose their own cases, which are related to one or more of the United Nation’s 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Teams compete in 3 different competitions:
25 Minute Competition - teams present their chosen business problem, an analysis of the ethical, sustainable, legal and financial aspects of a problem, and a viable solution on all fronts
10 Minute Competition - teams incorporate feedback given by judges on the previous day in a 10-minute presentation expanding on the ethical aspect of the problem
90 Second Competition - teams give an elevator pitch explaining the importance of the sustainability component of the problem.
The competition will take place during the week of April 13-17. The online divisions will compete on April 13-14. The in-person divisions will convene April 15-17 in Los Angeles on the LMU campus. The winners for all divisions will be announced on the evening of Friday, April 17 at the Awards Ceremony, which will be live-streamed
Schools may send multiple teams, both graduate and undergraduate. Visit cba.lmu.edu/ibescc learn more and to register, or email ibes@lmu.edu.
